A former junk food addict now looks TEN YEARS YOUNGER after dropping an incredible five stone [31kg] without exercise – and is wearing dresses and skirts for the first time in her life.
Just 18 months ago, Irene Roman tipped the scales at a heavy 13st 7lbs [86kg] – while her wardrobe was filled to the brim with frumpy size 18 clothes.
The 45-year-old-from Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia, said her weight had piled on over the years due to her insatiable junk food addiction – which saw her gorge on greasy takeaway foods, chocolate, cakes, chips and a 1.25 litre bottle of coke zero daily.
But in November 2017, childcare worker Irene said she finally had enough of ‘hating’ her reflection in the mirror – so she completely overhauled her diet and quit her unhealthy junk food habit for good.
One year later, the inspirational super slimmer had managed to lose an amazing five stone [31kg] and four dress sizes – and is now more confident than ever flaunting her brand new svelte 55kg, size 8 figure.
Irene said: “I’ve always been a chubby kid throughout my teenage years.
“When I started working in childcare, I always skipped breakfast and didn’t start eating until lunch time. I’d binge on junk food throughout the day.
“I used to eat a lot of unhealthy high fat food and could finish 1.25L of Coke Zero in a day.
“I would drive through McDonalds to eat a large burger meal with hot chips and would eat again at home for a second dinner.
“After that there would be another round of binge eating with cakes, chocolate, and chips included.
“I’d have so many calories in a day and was not exercising at all. A lot of it was comfort and boredom eating.”
Inspirational Irene said her brand new look attracts lots of comments from people who tell her she looks much younger now after having lost so much weight.
And she has even bee able to throw out her entire old wardrobe of size 16-18 clothes, which consisted mostly of baggy jeans and frumpy shirts, in favour of a more modern and feminine array of flirty and figure-hugging skirts and dresses – something which she very rarely wore before in her life.
Irene said: “Not only do people say I look younger, but I feel so much younger now too.
“The weight loss certainly took a few years off, which is always a good thing. People often are not sure of how old I actually am.
“People said I looked younger and they didn’t even recognise me when they saw me again after losing the weight.
“At my heaviest, I didn’t feel attractive and I hated shopping because nothing ever fitted properly.
“But now there are so many more options. I had to buy a whole new wardrobe and start over again.
“I never used to wear skirts and dresses, only very rarely on special occasions such as weddings or when I absolutely had to.
“I hated the way I looked in them, and I felt they just made me look even bigger. I wasn’t comfortable in them at all.
“But that’s all changed now. I love wearing skirts and dresses, they’re a regular part of my wardrobe.”
The incredible slimmer managed to lose the weight by following the ‘Slim By Nature’ detox and fat burning program which focuses on clean foods and a healthy eating plan to help shed the pounds naturally.
Now instead of ‘comfort eating’ and binging on burgers, fries, cake and chocolate, Irene fills up on lean proteins, fresh fruits and vegetables – while she stays hydrated with water instead of drinking large bottles of coke.
She said: “The ‘Slim By Nature’ program was amazing and so easy to follow.
“Nowadays, I’ll usually make myself a cup of coffee and eat a fruit snack in the morning.
“Lunch is usually chicken, a salad, or tuna. I now eat an apple for an afternoon snack, along with a cup of tea. No more McDonalds or KFC.
“Dinner is a combination of meat and vegetables, something like healthy minced bolognese with zucchini noodles.
“I never go to the gym or do crazy workouts. I lost all my weight through healthy eating and changing my mindset.”
Irene said she now has more vitality and lust for life than ever before – and even celebrated reaching her goal weight by going skydiving, something she never thought she would be able to do because of her weight.
She said: “I always used to avoid any strenuous activities or sports. But after I lost the weight, I knew I wanted to celebrate by going skydiving.
“It was such an amazing way to mark my weight loss, and since then I’ve done other things like ziplining in New Zealand and ride race cars in Melbourne.
“I’ve gained so much more confidence than ever before. I have so much more social confidence to go out with friends and be happy with the way I look.
“I have so much more energy and no longer feel sluggish and unmotivated. I feel alive.
“When I look back at photos of myself at my heaviest, I can see it was always a fake smile. But now when I have photos taken, it’s real and not fake or forced.
“I’m happier than ever and I never want to go back to how I was. I’m really looking forward to the future.”
