A holidaymaker was tickled to capture a hilarious video of a woman he believes is Theresa May’s doppelgänger – conducting a choir singing ‘Que Sera Sera’.
Retired headteacher Chris Flanagan, from Mablethorpe, Lincs, filmed the clip of the Dutch ladies choir and their lookalike maestro during a trip to Keukenhof Gardens in The Netherlands.
The 66-year-old said the musical group appeared on the patch of grass close to him and felt their satirical choice of song unwittingly mocked the embattled PM and Britain’s stunted exit from the European Union.
Chris said: “As all good Brits do, we’d taken a packed lunch for the day and sat down in a picnic area for lunch when a number of ladies came clutching folders.
“After appearing, they set up music stands and were joined by a couple of accordionists and their conductor, when an unexpected performance began.
“I said to my wife how much I thought the conductor resembled Theresa May and joked she must have got fed up of walking up mountains and running through wheat fields.
“She must have decided to come to Holland instead for an early Easter break.”
Chris later found out the group are called ‘De Bollen Mina’s Dutch choir’, an accomplished group of 40 singers.
He added: “We really enjoyed their performance, with Que Sera being a standout performance for the uncanny resemblance of the conductor to our Prime Minister.
“The appropriateness of the words to the current political situation are spot on.”
