An impressive mid-air scramble between a cheetah and impala has caused the pair to appear horizontal.
Photographer, Jeffrey Wu, 53, and a troop of tourists on his photo safari captured the shots of the cheetah holding on to an impala as it leapt through the air to avoid becoming dinner.
The images – taken on February 22 at Masai Mara national reserve, Kenya – show both the impala and cheetah while they are jumping horizontally through the air.
Jeffrey, from Toronto , Canada, who leads photographic tours in Africa, said: “The cheetah in these photos is called Imani and after watching her fail at her first target, she spotted this young impala run towards her.
“Imani jumped in the air and did a perfect somersault by stretching and flipping her body completely, her paws reached out grabbing the back of the impala’s left leg before pulling the impala down to the ground.”
