A lorry load of kids toy cars were dropped off at a dealership just in time for young drivers to grab the first 2019 registrations of the year.
As people rush to get the latest number plate, one dealership in Northampton was pictured taking a large delivery of this seasons collection of the nation’s number one selling car, the Little Tikes Cozy Coupe.
Last year, despite the market’s 6.8% decline in motor car sales, the much loved kiddy’s car still sold over £160,000 units, overshadowing the Ford Fiesta by 66%.
1 in 3 children in the UK already own a Cozy Coupe and it’s expected that its popularity will continue this year as learner drivers hurry to get their hands on this iconic car.
Michelle Lilley, Head of Cozy Coupe fleet operations, said: “We’re thrilled to release this limited number of Coupes for the first new registration of the year.
“It’s the perfect affordable first car for keen motorists.
“It’s been great being able to make this special delivery.
“We’re encouraging Cozy Coupe enthusiasts to head online or in-store to look at the range of Coupes within the fleet, there’s something for every taste and it’s the perfect affordable first car for keen motorists.
“The Cozy Coupe is so iconic and loved by so many children, here’s to a new fleet of Coupes for 2019.”
Giving off zero emissions, requiring no tax and costing nothing at the petrol pump, it’s easy to see why the Cozy Coupe is so popular.
Launched in 1979, the Cozy Coupe currently retails at £59.99 and a few lucky children were able to take their new wheels out for a spin.
Young Beatrice Rance and her friend Gabriel Johnson-Smalling where able to take part in a test drive after the car were dropped off from a local toy store.
Sam Rance, father of Beatrice Rance, said: “This was my first car and I loved learning to drive in it.
“It ignited my passion for cars and I’m now investing in a new set of wheels for my daughter as I want her to have the same fun start to driving”
