This adorable video shows the moment a thoughtful dad revealed to his son he had bought him a puppy.
Proud parents Judie, 22, and Isaih Apolinar, 23, picked up Ziggy, an eight-week-old pitbull pup, for their six-year-old son Eli to help him deal with his autism.
The couple from San Jose, California, said Eli had been hinting for weeks that he wanted a puppy and the couple finally decided to oblige.
Footage taken on February 15 shows an emotional Eli finally meeting the adorable Ziggy for the first time.
Judie said: “Eli is a very outgoing, curious and loving boy! He is always eager to meet new people and try new things.
“Though Eli does have his struggles, he has never let himself be discouraged to do things out of his comfort zone.
“Eli has made tremendous progress over the last year dealing with his emotions and connecting with his peers.
“However he still does struggle to make friends because he’s a lot taller and bigger than most kids his age.
“It makes it difficult for him to make friends or play with them at times since he has to be a little more cautious.”
Judie said Ziggy will help Eli practice meeting new people and overcome some of his anxiety.
She said: “It has only been a week since we got Ziggy and already he’s had such a positive impact on our family.
“Ziggy has given Eli something exciting to share with other people.
“He is so eager to share updates about Ziggy to anyone who will listen.
“Our son has already faced a lot of challenges that would overwhelm me as an adult, so having Ziggy has already felt like it’s boosting Eli’s confidence and that’s the best feeling as a parent.”
