A doting dad celebrated when he saw his daughter take her first steps after doctors had said she may never walk.
When Lawrence Bakana started filming his one-year-old Lawree stood up at home in Buffalo, New York, little did he know what he was about to see.
Initially holding on to the sofa, Lawree – who was born with a deformed right leg – takes one tiny little step, leaving her dad shaking with excitement.
Becoming more confident, the determined baby continued to step closer and closer to her ecstatic dad who could barely control his joy.
Lawrence said: “I felt blessed and truly in awe.
“There was so much relief and excitement, I can’t even explain it.
“I started recording when Lawree lifted herself off the floor and just stood there for a whole minute, something she rarely does.
“I started to record her and encouraged her to come towards me which she did.
“Eventually she fell because I got overly excited and scared her a little.”
When Lawree was born, she had shortened right leg, which led doctors to fear she would have issues walking.
The video – which was filmed on August 7 2018 – was only uploaded to social media on February 10 and has already been viewed more than three million times.
