Amazing video captures boiling water turning into snow in an instant during the polar vortex.
Ievgen Gretskyi, 32, caught the moment with his wife in his hometown Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, when the weather plummeted to -26 °C (-15°F).
As the polar vortex swept over on February 6, Ievgen decided to test out the Mpemba effect due to the weather being so cold.
The Mpemba effect happens when hot water freezes faster than cold water.
Ievgen said: “It felt amazing.
“I was worried that I might spill some water on my head, but it all turned to vapor instantly.
“I’d never seen it in real life so I wanted to see if it really works that well.
“It is also a ton of fun.”
