A super fit pensioner has gone viral after her training partner posted her incredible gym workouts online.
Gym trainer, Wesley James, 31, from Norwalk, USA, first approached Lauren Bruzzone, 72, from New York, US, after watching her train in the gym.
After finishing his exercise class, Wesley says Lauren would always stay behind to work on her pull-ups and technique.
Wesley offered to help her achieve her pull-up on the condition that Lauren would let him document the process of achieving her goal.
They now train together seven days a week, and on Lauren’s third week working with Wesley, she finally managed to complete her push-up target.
Wesley said: “Lauren would always stay after her exercise class to work on her pull-ups, she told me it didn’t matter if it took her until she was 78.
“I told her to give me three weeks to help her obtain her goal, the day before the third week deadline, she finally did her pull-up.
“Lauren embodies every desirable quality that I could ever ask for in a client.
“She makes everything look so easy.”
Lauren, a former lawyer, and now college professor started in the gym five years ago after being introduced to it by her friend.
Wesley believes Lauren is a perfect example of what anyone can achieve regardless of their age when they put their minds to it.
Wesley said: “A lot of people are intimidated to train with me because they see on social media how I train myself.
“I figured showing that Lauren is still capable and willing to train with me at the age of 72, it would help change a lot of minds.
“We never would have thought that we would get this kind of response.”
Lauren still has other goals she wants to accomplish with her fitness and vows not to stop now that she can finally complete a pull up.
Wesley said: “I teach all of my clients how to utilise their core as much as possible to control their pace, support their movements, and protect themselves from injury.
“She would like to be able to do a few more pull-ups in a row, and would also like to improve on all of her lifts.
“She’s looking forward to the gains we will make, she has no idea what I have in store for her.
“She certainly had her doubts, but I made her a believer.”
