This little girl struck up an unlikely friendship with a seal after a chance encounter in the water.
Swimming in Vivonne Bay in Kangaroo Island, South Australia, Jodie Walsh was spending the day with her niece, Manaia, nine, when they were joined by the friendly mammal.
The 34-year-old’s incredible footage captured the seal imitating her niece’s moves in the water.
Jodie said: “We noticed a seal in the distance – once my niece jumped back in the water, it didn’t take long for it to swim up under her.
“It continued to play with her for 20 minutes – it was an awesome thing to watch.
“She never tried to touch the seal, they were both just aware and intrigued of each other.
“It was a perfect display of nature and the curiosity of animals and kids.”
