A bunch of normal looking rocks held a geometric fossil surprise inside.
Tom Gunst was looking for fossils in Calais, France, on January 25 when he stumbled across some mysterious rocks.
He grabbed a handful of the rusty-looking stones, some of which were nearly perfectly round and some of which had a cylindrical shape, before smashing them open using a pebble.
He was amazed to see the rocks concealed some shiny geometric figures, consisting of thin silver fibres all connected to the centre of the stones.
Tom said: “We found these rusty looking rocks in Calais, basically where the movie ‘Dunkirk’ was filmed.
“We have no idea why they come in such unnatural forms, or what they are actually made from.”
