This jaw-dropping selection of photographs reveals the wonders inside magical ice caves.
Czech snapper Matěj Kříž ventured inside the Breidamerkurjokull glacier tongue in Iceland last month – and was amazed by what he found.
The 28-year-old discovered the caves while exploring the area during a day off before capturing their stunning icy blue glass-like interiors on camera.
Matěj said: “If i had to pick one of my favourite shots, it would be definitely my self portrait standing in the ice cave and looking at the ceiling.
“My first reaction when I saw this place was to be stunned.
“Even now, after a few years living in this area, nothing has changed – I am still stunned several times a day no matter the weather or circumstances.”
Matěj said some of the caves are still accessible but have changed a lot as the glacier is retreating.
He added: “Some caves disappeared and got smaller, but new ones appear every year and this season has been much better for ice caving than the past few years in this area.
“It is beautiful to be able to come back to the same areas after some time, you can see what a big difference can mother nature make just in few days.
“You feel she is alive.”
