This stunning photograph shows a butterfly risking instant death by choosing an iguana’s nose as its place to rest.

Wildlife photographer Yan Hidayatan, 43, took the pictures of the black and white butterfly‘s lucky near miss in Padang, Indonesia.

Yan said: “I wanted to take pictures of animals hunting when I spotted this beautiful butterfly sitting calmly on the iguana’s nose.

“It was sitting for a minute or two on the reptile.

“The butterfly then flew away when the lizard turned its head.”
