This working musical instrument is a real work of GUITAR, as it was created using more than 1200 COLOURING PENCILS.

Shaped like a classic Fender Stratocaster, the beautiful instrument took its creator around 100 hours to create.

YouTube Burls Art – who goes by Burls, as he does not wish to reveal his full name – spent around two to four hours a day working on the masterpiece over the course of the month.

The idea for the project came to California-based Burls after he noticed a number of artists had used colouring pencils to create household ornaments, such as bowls.

Not content with a small project, however, 25-year-old Burls decided he wanted to work on something he could utilize and enjoy more than just an art piece.

He said: “A guitar seemed like a natural fit.

“I knew it was a cool project that I was pretty sure hadn’t been done before.

“So I figured there’d be interest in it.”

The making process required Burls to route, sand, drill and polish his instrument – not to mention adding the traditional elements that make an electric guitar playable.

Adding to the level of difficultly: Burls had never made a guitar before – though he plans to make more in the future, given the success of this project.

He recently released footage of the creation process, which garned millions of views and positive comments online in the process.

To prove his project was legit, the artist even treated viewers to a demo at the end of his video.

Speaking of what he aims to do with the guitar, Burls said: “I don’t really have any future plans.

“It’s a one-of-a-kind guitar for now, so I plan on just hanging it up in my room for the foreseeable future.

“I did really enjoy the guitar building process, so I think there will be more to come.”
