Animals Video

By Randal Coombs

Adorable new video shows a Javelina’s fighting spirit when being taken on by a Hunting Guide.

Shot on the 30th of December 2018, it shows local Texan Hunting Guide, Mike Schraeder Jr, discovering the little brawler whilst hunting Mule Deer in West Texas, close to the Chinati Mountains.

The video shows Mike pick the Javelina up by its scruff before releasing it back into the wild, what he didn’t expect was the Balboa-esk boxer to set on him to deliver a little revenge.

Mike said: “When they saw the truck they spooked and scattered in all directions.

“In their hasty retreat this little baby was trampled by one of the adults, by the time he got to his feet and regained his composure his pack was gone.

“They’re notoriously aggressive, with attitudes and teeth much larger than their modestly sized bodies.”

Javelinas are native animals to Texas, they’re distantly related to pigs but are a species of their own.

Interestingly, the breed is closer to a Hippopotamus than a Pig.

Mike said: “Some folks thought the squealing was because he was in pain, I assure you he was not.

“The squealing is him calling to his pack to come defend him, because in his mind he has just been caught by a predator.
