An Australian paddleboarder was treated to a magical moment when a playful dolphin attempted to copy his moves – by leaping vertically from the water in an incredible synchronised shot.
The perfectly-timed image captures the moment the dolphin came clear out of the water on the famous Bondi Beach in Sydney earlier this week [WEDS].
Photographer Poppie Pack, 34, was lucky to be holding her camera when she witnessed the encounter on the mist-shrouded coastline.
Poppie said: “The dolphins weren’t being very active but one suddenly jumped with perfect timing.
“The paddle boarder was in just as much in awe as we were watching from the shore, it was pretty magical.
“The water had the most beautiful summer mist sitting over it which made the whole setting quite majestic.”
Bondi Beach is a common dolphin spotting spot, with the creatures venturing close to shore in search of small fish.
Poppie’s post made waves on social media with 1,500 likes and an outpouring of praise from her fellow Bondi locals.
Born in New Zealand but now based in Tamarama in Sydney, Poppie said it was nothing new to get support from her community.
Poppie said: “Bondi’s a very supportive area code.
“I love taking photographs, it’s glorious and never looks the same from one photo to the next.
“Not to mention the opportunity to snap dolphins leaping out of the ocean.”
