This amazing timelapse video showing the beautiful bright lights of the southern aurora will take your breath away.
The bright yellow and pink glow of the lights illuminates the dark, starry sky above the ocean.
The stunning snaps were captured by Philip Dubbin, from Melbourne, Australia, on a night time photography trip to nearby Mushroom Reef.
Philip, 53, who works as an IT support officer, said: “Watching the aurora is such a relaxing but awe-inspiring sight, especially on a calm and clear night – though we don’t get the bright colours by eye unless it’s a huge storm.
“Seeing the dancing beams just brings nature so much closer.
“Since I’ve been photographing the lights for the past two years, I’ve seen some sort of showing at least once a month.
“I haven’t seen the northern lights yet, but I’m planning a trip to see them in Canada and Alaska next year.”
