A Golden Retriever SMILED for the camera as he came round from a dose of sedatives.
The dog, called Oscar, had gone to the vets to have some fatty tumours removed – but didn’t have a care in the world when this post-surgery photo was taken.
The 11-year-old pooch smiled on his journey home as the sedatives wore off, with his owner tweeting: “Doggo went under for surgery and now he is DRUGGO”.
Sarah Mack, from Adelaide, Australia, said the viral snap was a ‘fluke’ taken by her sister Erin.
Sarah, a 24-year-old student, said: “He had gone in for an operation to remove some fatty tumours, so it wasn’t anything too serious.
“He was quite excited before the surgery – he loves going to the vets because he gets loads of extra attention.
“My sister Erin took the picture on the way back home to send to our family chat.
“It was a fluke he ended up smiling for it and the reaction has been crazy.”
Sarah – who shared the picture on March 27 just hours after his operation – has had Oscar since he was a puppy.
She added: “We got him as a puppy. He was the runt of the litter and the last one left.
“I was about 12 at the time and I cried until my Dad let me keep him.
“It’s been really lovely to see people love him like we do too.”
