Watch the grim moment the ‘Wax Whisperer’ removes 50 YEARS worth of wax from a man’s ear.
The stomach churning footage shows Neel Raithatha, who runs an Audiology practice called The Hear Clinic in Leicestershire, pulling out the congealed wax which had been there for half a century.
Neel, who called himself the ‘Wax Whisperer’ said the wax had been there for so long there was a strong acidic smell coming from the ear.
He added: “The client believed the earwax to have been inside their ear for at least 50 years, but was reluctant to have it removed over the years as it wasn’t causing any pain, up until recently.
“This was exacerbated by them instilling olive oil ear wax drops which was absorbed by the wax causing it to expand and swell inside the ear.
“After removing the occluding earwax from the ear canal, there was a thin wet lining of residual earwax remaining on the eardrum which would naturally migrate outwards on its own.
“Given the earwax had been inside the ear for so long, there was a strong acidic odour coming from the ear.
“It was not possible for the client themselves to self-remove, and traditional ear syringing, or ear irrigation as it’s now called, may not have been appropriate as there were no opening for the pumped water to get in behind the earwax in order to flush it out.
“The procedure was performed endoscopically which is a technique I developed and pioneered in the UK.”
