A stunned motorist filmed massive fires raging next to cars travelling down a dual carriageway leaving visibility almost non-existent.
As a vehicle travelled along the A404 near Little Marlow, Buckinghamshire, on July 2, thick black smoke can be seen billowing across the dual carriageway.
Approaching closer, the passenger filming – who wishes to remain anonymous – captured flames licking the tarmac right next to passing cars.
With smoke filling the air, being able to see the car just 10 metres in front becomes almost impossible as flames lick over trees beside the road.
Around 100 firefighters have been called to battle the blaze which has spread from cornfields to an industrial site nearby.
The passenger said: “I was terrified, I’ve only ever seen scenes like this on the TV from abroad.
“We had seen lots of smoke from several miles prior and there was thick black smoke for a long time.
“I think it only reached the road as we approached as very little traffic had built up.”
