Pucker up! This adorable baby orangutan was caught on camera apparently responding to her mum’s request for a kiss.
Baby orangutan Indah is just eight months old – but clearly has a wonderful bond with mum Samboja.
As mum appears to point to her lips, beckoning for a kiss, her little daughter is clearly more than happy to oblige.
The pair, who live at the Apenheul Primate Park, Netherlands, were pictured by amateur photographer Remco Walravens, who volunteers at the zoo.
It was only when he uploaded his pictures of the mother and baby bonding in their enclosure last week that he realised how special the image was – when it received 3,5000 likes within hours of it being posted.
He said: “I was folowing the little girl through my lens and the actual kiss lasted about two seconds.
“Just before this moment she was playing with her mum’s hair and the pair were just enjoying each other’s company.
“I photograph the orangutans because I want everyone to be able to see how special and beautiful they are, and I hope that this means people will grow to love them as much as I do, and hopefully they will protect them.”
