This bizarre video shows hundreds of caterpillars flinching whenever they hear a loud scream.
As John Farley and his daughter Madison returned home to their house in Pakenham, Ontario, Canada, on May 29, they were greeted by a swarm of insects all over the building.
Screaming at the sight of the swarm of tent caterpillars returning like they had one year ago, John jokingly screamed at the sight.
Instantly the sensitive insects flinched, almost moving half of their bodies with the sound leaving John and Madison stunned.
Testing the phenomenon out, the pair screamed a couple more times with the caterpillars wriggling and jiggling like before.
John said: “I just couldn’t stop laughing when they jiggled.
“When I first spotted them I jokingly screamed and that’s when I noticed they flinched.
“Once I’d spotted it, I had to test whether they did it every time.
“So, Madison and I tried it a few times and they kept doing it.
“We had the same outbreak this time last year.
“It really is gross.”
