This perfectly poised lemur was pictured taking a break from the daily grind and finding its inner peace with a spot of meditation.

The serene ring-tailed lemur was found relaxing during a sunrise in Madagascar by wildlife photographer Alvaro Cubero.

Lemurs sunbathe in a meditative type position because their bellies are not as protected from colder environments.

They have to get as much sunlight as they can during the prime time of day.

Alvaro, 27, from Costa Rica, said: “The lemurs use the sun to warm themselves whilst meditating.

“It was amazing to see the lemur in a yoga pose.”
