An obese young man is the first UK patient to undergo pioneering excess skin surgery after losing massive 13 STONE.

Jordan Martinez, 22, weighed in at a whopping 25 stone before undergoing an intensive weight loss regime in December 2015.

Despite losing such a large amount of weight, Jordan felt incomplete with his drooping excess skin still hanging over him.

However, the now fitness instructor researched alternative methods to get his skin removed after conventional surgery exceeded his budget.

Jordan then decided to undergo a pioneering 360 degree body lift for just £6,000 – something that was the first of its kind in the UK.

Jordan, from Mansfield, Nottinghamshire, said: “I would have rather died on the surgery table than live with my excess skin.

“Despite being the first person to have that surgery, I knew that it was what I had to do to feel complete.

“I was nervous, because people said to me that realistically I could bleed to death on the table because they were performing surgery on my whole body at once, but I was sure I was in safe hands.

“But I wasn’t willing to tuck my skin into my jeans every morning before leaving the house anymore.

“After just five hours worth of surgery and having all of my excess skin removed, I felt like a new person as soon as I woke up.”

When Jordan was just 19-years-old he was advised by doctor’s to lose weight in fear that he would die at an early age if not

Jordan decided to join Slimming World and within two years had halved his body weight

He added: “I had dealt with years of being bullied at school, I was branded Jabba the Hut, as well as being picked on for my size

“And after dealing with that for so many years and being told how dangerous my weight was, I decided to join Slimming World.

“But after I lost about 10 stone, I noticed that my skin was starting to hang and I knew that I wasn’t going to have an iron-board stomach.

“I looked like a sack of potatoes and I knew that I’d come so far that I couldn’t just give up, but money was the main issue

“So I started a fundraising page to raise the funds for surgery and eventually a consultant surgeon reached out to me and saw how desperate I was and arranged the pioneering surgery.”

Now, Jordan weighs 12 stone and is paying back his £6,000 loan he used to fund his surgery.

However, Jordan is overwhelmed with the results of his surgery and admits he feels like an entirely new person.

He said: “I feel complete now and it’s changed my life in so many more ways than I could imagine.

“I used to have to drive three doors down to the corner shop to stock up on junk food, but now I’ve left my call center job to become a fitness instructor.

“I go to the gym three times a week and now I’m working on my body whilst still being able to treat myself once in a while.

“Despite the fear before surgery, I’m so glad that I took the risk and it has made my life worth living again.”
