This is a really SHOCKING sight!
Photographer Peter DeMarco managed to capture the exact moment a purple streak of lightning struck a skyscraper in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
With a stroke of luck his drone, hovering above the city skyline, photographed the bolt hitting just beyond the famous twin Petronas Towers.
Peter, 44, from Connecticut, USA, said: “This is one of my favourite shots because it was so hard to capture.
“Photographing lightning is like fishing. No matter how good you are, there’s no guarantee you’ll get your fish or shot.
“It takes preparation and a healthy dose of luck.
“Since I shot this with my drone, I wasn’t able to use a slow shutter speed, otherwise the movement would have made the photo blurry.
“I couldn’t believe it had worked when I saw it.”
