A massive Nile crocodile stared an onlooker directly in the eye whilst munching on an impala leg in this intimidating footage.
Magdel Van Wyk, encountered the haunting experience whilst she was on an early 6am walk through the world-famous Kruger National Park, South Africa.
Wanting to capture something rare, Magdel made her way to the side of the dam, soon seeing splashes indicating the croc’s presence and quickly noticing the pre-historic creature staring her directly in the eye.
Having made its way closer to the immigration officer, the 2,400lb beast becomes challenged by peers who slowly glide nearer and attempt to snatch the half-eaten leg from his mouth, filmed on 23 January.
The 57-year-old said: “The adrenaline was pumping.
“They started moving in like submarines in the hope for some scraps.
“One of them was not going to wait on the side and moved in for a bite.”
Magdel, who has been visiting the park with her husband for the past 30 years said they had never witnessed anything so close.
She said: “I love spending time at the dam, waiting in anticipation hoping for something to happen.”
