An Instagram fitness model has shown how deceiving photos can be – with a 10 second transformation.
Madalin Giorgetta, 28, from Perth, Australia posted the candid video to reveal what a difference a good angle makes.
In the video stunning Madalin flexes and relaxes her muscles to show even models don’t look toned and lean all the time. She then pushes her hips forward so her waist seems wider and her stomach larger.
By changing the position of her slim frame, Madalin sheds light on how not everything is as it seems on Instagram. Brave Madalin hopes it will help other women feel better about their own bodies.
Madalin said: “I had recently felt very low about my own body image, and had found myself thinking negative things about my body.
“A lot of this was because I spend so much time on Instagram, and constantly see perfect pictures of other girls.
“I then realised that other girls could be looking at my images and feeling bad about themselves and that’s the last thing I want.
“I wanted to show my followers that pictures aren’t always as they seem, and how easy it is to alter an image by simply standing in a more flattering position.
“I think we assume that the girls we envy for their perfect bodies on Instagram look like that 24/7, and that couldn’t be further than the truth.”
She added: “Most people were really positive and I got so many messages thanking me for sharing as it made them feel better about their bodies.
“One that really resonated with me said ‘for two years I have tortured myself in the gym, to try and get myself in “Instagram” shape. Your video suddenly gave me a feeling of peace and happines.’
Madalin also hit out at out photoshopping and claimed being honest was most important.
She said: “I think it will just give women unrealistic and unattainable body goals, which they will never reach.
“It fuels further self hate and feelings of envy towards others because we don’t look like them. When the truth is that they don’t look like themselves in real life either.”
Madalin started documenting her health journey by doing Kayla’s guides in January 2016.
She said: “I never dreamed I would have so many followers, it’s the best feeling to know I inspire and motivate people to be the best versions of themselves and to feel more confident in their own skin.
