This homeowner was left perplexed when an unexpected knock at the door turned out to be curious deer in search of a snack.
Austin Piechura was relaxing at home in Broadus, Montana, when a series of noises on his front porch caused him to spring into action.
Rushing to the door and presuming it to be his wife returning home, Austin was left stunned to find a deer staring back at him through the peep-hole, on February 21.
Opening the door, the delirious deer continues to nibble away at the side of the house, blissfully unaware that Austin is standing watching.
Finally realising Austin’s presence, hilariously the deer looks up and stares blankly back at him, as if to say, ‘Can I help you?’, before Austin comically closes the door.
Austin said: “I was sitting in the living room and my wife had been out grocery shopping for some time.
“I heard some noises on the front porch and figured it was my wife returning.
“But I looked and saw the deer standing there; I ran and grabbed my phone.
“As soon as I shut the door, the deer ran off again.
“We’ve had a lot of snow in the past couple of weeks, food is getting scarce so the deer come to the houses looking for something to eat.
“Usually throughout the year we will have them in the yard or in town, but this is the first time they’ve come to the house.
“I was a little shocked, but ultimately amused by the whole encounter.”
