This vain squirrel is clearly NUTS about his appearance as he checks out his reflection while stopping for a drink.
The red squirrel’s image is crystal clear as he pulls a series of funny poses over a stretch of water at a nature reserve in Austria.

Photographer, Julian Rad, from Vienna, spent six weeks and up to five hours a day in a self-built hide to capture the beautiful shots.
The 26-year-old said: “Red squirrels frequently visit a pond which is in a forest near me and I came up with the idea to photograph them while they drink.
“First I installed a hide in order to be invisible and then I waited for hours and hours until the squirrels appeared.

“I am really pleased to have those shots in my photo collection and I am sure they are the best images I have taken so far.
“Nature is unpredictable and as a wildlife photographer patience is just fundamental.
“Basically, you have to make yourself invisible, the red squirrels are extremely timid where I live so it is important that they have no indication that you are there.

“Capturing the squirrel with a water reflection was such a unique project and after spending time with the squirrels for such an exhausting long period of time it absolutely paid off in the end.”
