A man got an adorable early Christmas surprise – when a kitten was delivered to his doorstep by a postal worker.

Will Zweigart, 38, opened his front door on a Sunday morning to find a United States Postal (UPS) worker presenting a cardboard box with a stray kitten inside of it.

The postal worker told Will, who works for cat rescue service Flatbush Cats, that the cute little kitten had run out in front of her truck and was howling – and at a loss for what to do, tracked down Will to see if he could help.

Charli the kitten is now being looked after by the organisation, and is looking for a new home.

Will, from Brooklyn, New York, USA said: “It was a complete surprise when my doorbell rang and the UPS worker told me a small kitten had run in front of her truck and was howling.

“She didn’t know what to do, so she scooped the kitten up in a box and took her to my house as she knows I work with cats – talk about a special delivery!

“Even though we were already overloaded with other rescue kittens, we took her in.

“When we got her, she was malnourished, dehydrated and covered in fleas, but now she is doing very well.

“She will be spayed and receiver her vaccinations next week and hopefully she will be adopted shortly after.

“Funnily enough another postal worker now wants to adopt her!”
