An Indian teenager lost his life after bitten by a cobra while trying to rescue it from a locality where small children were playing.

Avez Mistry was popular among neighbours as a ‘snake rescuer’. From the age of eight, he had been rescuing snakes in distress.

The 19-year-old boy, who had narrowly escaped death from a snakebite barely three months ago, had gone at his mother’s insistence to help some children when he was bitten by the venomous snake five times and died in a hospital.

A video recorded by the residents of Pareira Nagar in Mumbai in western India shows the moment the brave boy continues trapping the snake even after it bit him on his right hand.
