A five-month-old baby was born with so much hair that he stops traffic in the street and strangers in their tracks – with some even dubbing him Wolverine.
When Rachel and Gareth Carter went for their 12-week scan nurses thought that the couple would be having a little girl due to the amount of hair the photo revealed.
But his mum waited until the birth to find out Bobby’s gender and when he arrived shocked doctors called in their colleagues to admire his luscious locks.
Rachel, 30, says he is often compared to X-Men character Wolverine and comedian Ken Dodd, with strangers sometimes mistaking him for a girl.
Bobby has his hair washed and blow dried daily to tame his boisterous mane and has hardly lost a strand since the day he was born.
Rachel, from Lydiate, Liverpool, said: “My eldest son, Frankie, was born with a lot of hair but not as much as Bobby.
“When we went for our gender scan the nurses were sure I was having a girl because we could see that the baby had so much hair.
“They had never seen a scan photo like it before.
“When he was born, he was like a celebrity, the doctors were calling people around to come and look and everyone on the ward wanted to hold him.
“Even now when I walk down the road people have to stop to look at him, one lady even stopped her car in traffic and shouted ‘Oh my god, look at that baby’s hair.”
Rachel and Gareth, 29, have even set up an Instagram page for their son so the world can see his luscious head of hair.
His proud mum said: “We decided to set up the page as a way to document him growing up.
“My mum told me that I was born with a lot of hair too but he gets his hair colour from his dad.
“I have to blowdry it otherwise it stands on end and people think he looks like Wolverine, he finds it relaxing and even plays with his hair to send himself to sleep.
Rachel has to keep baby Bobby hidden inside his pram just to get around her local supermarket without causing too much of a stir.
She said: “I keep him in his pram when we go to the supermarket because otherwise, we end up being there for hours with everyone stopping to talk to us.
“He was quite a timid baby but now he is starting to come out of his shell because of the all the attention he gets.”
