An artist who turns 20,000 emojis into amazing lifelike celebrity portraits including Gigi Hadid, Selena Gomez, Leonardo DiCaprio, David Bowie and more.

The artist, real name Jake Patterson, has been creating the unusual pieces for two years making everyone from Willow Smith, Kanye and Kim Kardashian West to Seinfeld and The Powerpuff Girls
To create the portraits, he uses an image of the celebrity and then compiles emojis based on colour and subject matter to created detailed imitations of their face and hair.
In one image of Leonardo DiCaprio he uses heart emojis, pigs, musical notes, thunderbolts, leaves, saxophones, monkeys, loafs of bread, cookies, cheese, CDs and countless others in his creation.
Yung Jake says he has had a ‘good’ reaction to his art and his favourite piece is ‘The Powerpuff Girls’
Speaking via text, he said: “My business partner Vince McKelvie created a web app emoji.ink and I just happened to be good at it so i did a bunch of celebrities
“I find a picture or take one of someone then I capture what I can with emojis using a mouse, I use the web app emoji.ink.
“I pick them [the emojis] based on shape color and content if it relates to the subject
“I selected people based on how famous they r [sic] and whether I fw [follow – sic] them
“I like the one I did of The Powerpuff Girls, it is minimal and pleasing to look at.
“I like that other ppl [people – sic] like them.”
