A group of base jumpers lit up the night sky when they jumped out of a plane in the middle of the night – wearing LED wingsuits!
Together Sean Devlin, Alec Gragg and Tristan James jumped from the plane back in April 2017 over Perris, California.
Michael Naddor, a 30-year-old filmmaker and wingsuit coach, living in Oceanside, California, captured the footage and came up with idea along with his friend, Sean, when they needed a way to light up their suits during a night jump.
Michael said: “The idea was a collaboration between me and my friend, Sean, when we needed lights for night jumps and we thought it’d be rad to go all-out with LED’s.
“We just bought LED strips and fed them into the cells of the suits through the internal zippers, so with a little bit of tape we were good to go.
“We’ve done a couple of lit-up night jumps now.
“It was cool to be flying around your buddy as his wingsuit is in full party mode, but it’s also very disorienting flying at night since you have no visual markers of where you are.
“The other guys on the jump weren’t very well lit, so it was a little scary knowing they were in the formation but invisible.
“It definitely feels more dangerous flying at night since you’re just flying into darkness and hoping you land where you’re supposed to.”
Michael has completed over 700 skydives and over 80 basejumps.
He said: “I’ve always liked doing things that scared me and pushed my limits, for sure.
“I did my first bungee jump when I was 10 years old, and knew at that moment I would want to continue down the action sports path towards skydiving and BASE jumping.”
