Hello world! France’s first giant baby panda has been caught smiling for the camera as he celebrates his three-month birthday.
Mini Yuan Zi, born at ZooParc de Beauval in France on August 4, clearly enjoyed the attention as he smiled for the camera.
The adorable cub is obviously no stranger to the limelight – with an earlier picture showing the youngster apparently waving at fans just days after being born.
While enjoying the attention, Mini Yuan Zi, can be seen snuggling up to his proud and doting mummy, Huan Huan.
Mini Yuan Zi, who has temporarily been named after his daddy, Yuan Zi, weighed just 143 grams at birth but now weighs in at a healthy 5,524 kilos.
The thriving youngster has recently cut his first teeth and is expected to start crawling soon.
Sophie, an ethologist specializing in the study of the behaviour of pandas at ZooParc de Beauval, said: “Mini Yuan Zi stands out from other baby pandas of the same age by its particular hair: a frizzy hair, pulling more on the grey than on the black.
“But He Ping and Duan Dong Qing, our Chinese healers, are not worried, his dad, Yuan Zi, had the same coat at his age.”
An official naming ceremony is expected to take place in the next few weeks but it will be several months before the public can visit the cub.
