Meet the abandoned dog who still loves humans despite horrific torture that left his mouth rotting away after it was taped shut.

Animal rescuer Hayley Zielinski, 48, from Augusta in Georgia, USA, has declared little Jude, a Pitbull-mix, the ‘Face of Animal Abuse’ after his unbelievable treatment.

The dog, believed to be one-year-old, was found by the Dog Networking Agents Inc, with barely any flesh left around the mussel area and holes that penetrate right into his nasal cavity.

It is believed that his mouth was taped shut due to indentations around the mussel area and after it was ripped off or came loose, the deadly infection started to rot away his skin.

Further investigation led to the discovery that many of his teeth were broken, he is partially deaf due to trauma to his right ear and struggles to breathe due to his abuse.

He will need specialist reconstruction surgery and skin grafts to fix his disfigurement and help him to breathe along with other treatment, which fundraisers estimate to cost up to $10,000.

Hayley, originally from Merthyr Tydfil, Wales, and co-founder of Dog Network Agents Inc, say despite the horrific abuse suffered by Jude he ‘loves humans’ and his tail ‘never stops wagging’.

She said: “When you see him in person, you honestly can’t believe it, his teeth are so deformed and part of his lip has disintegrated from the infection from where his mouth was taped shut.

“I’ve never seen anything like this, he is the face of animal abuse, it was clear where the tape covered around his mussel area because you can see the indentations.

“It looks like someone then either ripped it off or it came loose, during that time and became infected and as it set it the infection began eating away his face.

“His whole face is infected, it has rotted the flesh and down to the bone in parts, there is no skin around his mussel area on the right side.

“The flesh smells terrible because it’s rotten, where the tape rotted his skin there are holes going right into the nasal cavity.

“When he breathes he sounds like a whale, it’s horrific, this poor dog has gone through some of the most shocking things I’ve ever seen.

“Even every vet is like ‘Oh my god, what happened to that poor dog?’ when they look at him and see the damage that has been done.

“Despite humans doing him wrong, whenever he sees us his tail never stop wagging, he just wants to be around people and be loved.

“He’s the sweetest dog, you would think his spirit would have been broken after being tortured and abused so badly by someone.

“He’s such a lovely, happy-go-lucky dog that is very loving, knowing his personality you wonder who could do this to him.

“His vets bills will be thousands and thousands, he needs to see specialists to repair the damage to his face and has a long road to recovery.”

Jude was spotted wandering the streets by a passer-by earlier this month, the person called the Dog Network Agents who retrieved him.

Even after helping countless dogs and witnessing all manner of horrific atrocities, they maintain this case ‘truly shocked’ them.

Hayley said: “We were speechless when we first saw him, you could see the holes in his face and all the infection eating away at his skin, then the smell was just horrible.

“But Jude had such a strong will to live that he survived, he was so emaciated you could see all of his bones, he was in really bad shape.”

Further investigations revealed the damage to Jude was worse than it first appeared.

The Dog Networking Agents are now fundraising to cover up to $10,000 (GBP) to help cover surgery costs, infection treatment, x-rays, bloodwork, the cost of a specialist and more.

Hayley added: “The consultation discovered he had so many broken teeth, he had scar tissue in one ear from repeated trauma that means he is now partially deaf in one ear.

“Jude will need specialist surgery to reconstruct his disfigured face and nasal cavity so he can breathe normally and get closer to living a normal life.

“He needs facial and nasal reconstruction as well as skin grafts, he has holes in his nasal cavity and so much damage to the one ear he’s partially deaf.

“We really would like to see if we can get him into a large rescue well out of this area.

“I believe this was someone’s dog who may have gotten lost, stolen or ended up in the hands of some lunatic.”
