An otter was captured performing an incredible trick on the chilly waters of the UK.
Walking on water has long been known as the stuff of miracles and it seems this little creature might be in to steal the limelight.
It was spotted appearing to walk on water in Leighton moss RSPB nature reserve in Lancashire.
Paul Ray, 49, from Cumbria captured this incredible moment and revealed the truth behind the image – the otter is actually walking on the lake’s frozen ice.
He said: “Due to the whole reserve being frozen the otter had no choice but travel across the ice to get from one side to the other, just as he goes out of frame.
“He found a small hole in the ice and disappeared, wish it was a bit more exiting but it was all over in seconds.
“I mainly shoot large mammals as a very serious amateur photographer, I frequent Leighton moss at least once a week mainly to photograph, Herons, Otters and Marsh Harriers.”
