A photographer has captured the touching moment a proud orangutan mum shows off her newborn baby to a crowd of visitors.

The touching snaps show the new mum, Lea, proudly cradling her tiny baby, as a crowd of other females appear to coo over the newborn.

In the family portrait, the adorable baby even clings on tightly to mum’s finger, just like a tiny human.

He said: “It was so great to see Lea, the mother with the baby, she looked so happy. She was so proud as she showed he baby to the visitors.

“The baby was just five days old, and the mother was so careful with her, she was just full of admiration for her little one.
