This man on his first paragliding experience got more than he bargained for when he signed up with Kadir Mert.
Using his action camera, he caught this hilarious video of himself and his passenger in sunny Samsun in the north of Turkey.
We see Kadir singing peacefully to his passenger and asking if he’s okay. Only to shake the seat, sending the pair of the swinging back and forth. His passenger seems to be in a mixture of amazement and horror, switching between shouts and laughter.
Software Engineer Kadir, 26, has been paragliding for seven years, so he’s had plenty of time to learn how to relax the people he flies with.
But he also likes to have a bit of fun. He told us about his methods for reducing people’s nerves up in the sky.
“My passenger didn’t understand our language but when we sang songs he calmed down. He was paragliding for the first time. When I saw him in fear, I just had fun.
Paragliding flights don’t use an engine, instead they glide using fabric a wing. The flights can last for many hours, although shorter ones are more common.
Many people find it a thrilling experience, with beautiful views, Kadir says,
“I like the sky and the feel of the wind – I love paragliding, it’s so nice to see people happy.
“I get to meet new people every day from all around the world.”
