A passenger has captured a stunning picture of the Milky Way from an aeroplane window.

Amazingly Jan Jasinski took the remarkable shot from his seat during a flight from Montreal in Canada to Frankfurt in Germany just last month.

The incredible picture shows the glistening milky way over the Atlantic Ocean – with a wing of the aeroplane still in the frame.

Jan, from Québec, is a graphic design graduate and a photographer. He is also a student pilot and during the winter months works as an aircraft de-icing technician.

He said his frequent travels allowed him to take lots of exciting photos from around the world but this was one of his best.

He added: “The unique sight of the milky way from an aircraft window is incredible.

“Being able to capture a sharp, long exposure image from a passenger seat perspective is certainly an enormous challenge.”
