This greedy seabird clearly has eyes bigger than his belly – as he was caught on camera struggling to fit his haul of fish into his beak all at once.
The bird fishing on Skomer Island, on the Pembrokeshire coast, Wales, when he made his monster catch.
Photographer Mike Bodman, from Chippenham, Wilts, visited the island in the hope of capturing the island’s wildlife on camera – and was thrilled when he stumbled across the particularly greedy bird.
He said: “The puffins hold the fish in their beaks with barbs, so they don’t fall out.
“I’d walked for hours all over the island in the hope of capturing them feeding, so I was really pleased to see this chap with so many fish in his mouth.”
Skomer Island is the home to approximately 165,000 pairs of puffins, making it one of the best places in the world to photograph them.
