It might be a luxury hideaway, but we can’t guarantee your bedfellows won’t give you nightmares.
The UK’s first-ever Tiger Lodge has now opened – where guests can catch 40 winks just inches from the tiger’s enclosure – with just a sheet of glass separating their boudoir from the big cats.
The unique lodge, at Port Lympne in Kent, opened last month and allows families the extraordinary opportunity to live and sleep within the reserve’s tiger enclosure.
With huge reinforced glass windows, guests at the luxury lodge can spend their stay face-to-face with tigers, allowing them to get up close and personal to the life of a tiger.
And when the roaring cats become all too much, they can enjoy a roaring log fire in the stylish two-bedroom lodge instead.
The incredible cabin is designed to sleep up to four people and offers all the creature comforts you would expect, including an extensive balcony with uninterrupted 30-mile views across the reserve to the English Channel and as far as France.
A night at the Tiger Lodge costs from £375 per night during low season and from £800 per night in high season.
Port Lympne Reserve also boasts a Rhino Lodge – an idyllic cottage allowing guests to come face to face with black rhino.
The Eastern Black rhino, currently on the critically endangered list, are the largest herd of black rhinos in the country.
