An incredible video shows a Pakistani fitness fanatic setting a new world record for most reps of two finger push-ups in one minute carrying a 40lbs weight on his back.

Wearing a rucksack packed with weights, 27-year-old Irfan Mehsood from Dera Ismail Khan, completed an impressive 22 push-ups in a minute, balancing his whole body on just his thumbs.

Proving how tough this gruelling challenge was, Irfan had to stop once during the attempt to rest but the dedicated record breaker pushed on to successfully complete his eighth Guinness World Record.

“I’m very happy that I have achieved this title.

It’s my passion to set more and more Guinness World Records titles,” he said.

Irfan has been practicing Kung Fu and intense fitness skills since teenage and gets his inspiration from the famous martial artist, stuntman and actor Jackie Chan.

He says: “Jackie Chan is my inspiration.

“I have been watching Chan’s movies since the time when I was studying in primary school and the actor has a huge impact on my life,” he said.

Irfan was born and brought up in Ladha, a scenic valley in the militancy-plagued South Waziristan – regarded as the birth place of Taliban.

However, he had to migrate to Dera Ismail Khan along with his family when clashes intensified between the security forces and militants in 2008.

“I grew up in an atmosphere of fear. Since the America’s war in Afghanistan, life in Waziristan changed completely as it was a Taliban hot-bed. There were military strikes, terrorist attacks that made our lives very difficult,” he said.

An M.Phil student, Irfan has the credit to introduce Wushu Kung Fu sports in his community.

He trains the arts to 70 teenagers in his academy called ‘Jackie Chan Academy’ for free of cost.

“I want to promote Kung Fu and train more and more players in order to promote the soft image of Pakistan abroad.

“It is good to see that teenagers are showing interest in martial arts but I can’t take more students as I lack funds to buy proper equipment.

“I want the Pakistan government to help me so that I can train more people, who can represent the country at various international events and will make our country proud,” he added.

Irfan’s other Guinness World Record tiles include: most thumb push ups (both arms) in one minute-33, most Bo staff strikes in one minute-216 and most full contact knee strikes in one minute (alternate legs)-83.
