A dog found with deadlock-like matted fur is looking for a new owner who will shave him down every two months.
Krystle Woodward, 33, rescued ‘Bob Marley’ who vets needed to shave down just to tell his sex after she and a co-worker whisked him from a ponding basin.
Since taking Bob to the vets where he received an astonishing transformation with the clippers, Krystle has been desperately trying to find him a home where he will be regularly shaved.
Krystle from Fowler, California who runs Pinky Paws ResQ, a non-profit animal rescue centre, said: “My grandma’s neighbour told me of a dog matted living in a ponding basin so I went out on my break, he snapped at me so I knew I needed more preparation.
“I went home on my lunch, got my van and asked a coworker to help me after work. He taped up my hands and I wore layers because I knew the dog would bite and I got a big blanket to lift him.
“That night my husband and I waited hours at the vet as a walk in where they had to sedate and shave the dog down to check the gender.
“We named him Bob Marley because of his dreadlocks. He has been so abused that he’s unpredictable, it’s not his fault and he will give me love nibbles when he wants.
“I still have to take him to the vet to be sedated and shaved down every couple months and we take him on outings to help socialise him but it’s hard because so many of our dogs have issues.
“Bob has come a long way even if he still snaps at me. He is still a lot of work but it’s worth all the love he gives us.”
