A couple who only eat ONCE a day have taken date nights to the next level – with giant calorific dinners.
Blake Horton, 35, and Jenni Hiraldo, 31, from Paramus, New Jersey, USA, follow a special diet called intermittent fasting which sees them save their calorie budget for a giant feast at night.
Blake, who works full time in sales, said: “I needed to lose weight when I turned 30.
“Physically I looked like crap. I was just not happy. I was newly single, overweight and needed to make change.
“I lost 60lbs but half way through I was miserable, eating small meals throughout the day -I was always hungry.
“I read about intermittent fasting and cut down to one large meal at night.
“Now I am much more happy.
“People think I spend all day in the gym, but I don’t even go to the gym in the summer.
“I mainly train outside and just eat less. I have a clean bill of health and get proper nutrients.
“I believe indigestion is best at night; going back to hunter gather days, you feast at night and digest while resting.
“I’ll wait until I’ve done everything, eat and then go to sleep shortly after.
“It’s usually late, sometimes one or two in the morning. Or if we go out, it will be five am.”
The couple, who’ve been together for over a year, met in the gym and bonded over their shared love of fitness.
Some of their favourite meals include lasagna sandwich, banana hot dogs and other fun-flavour meals.
A recent video showed them chowing down on multi-coloured pizza slice, slathered in yoghurt and marshmallows.
Blake said: “People think I eat junk and it looks like I do but the magic lies in nutrition.
“I like to be inventive and have a big variety.
“I’ve been doing it for so long, so I know what works well together.”
Jenni added: “The pizza slice was awesome. You must try it. You haven’t lived if you have not had a Giant Fruity Pebbles Slice!”
Blake has over 305k fans on his Instagram account @blake_201 while @bigjenni has 21.9k followers.
Blake added: “I’ve been doing this for four years and I’ve helped people to lose weight and get their life back.
“Either they are fit but hate their food or they love food but aren’t fit.
“I show people you don’t have to be miserable.”
