The beautiful pictures show the hot red lava shooting out of the Klyuchevskaya Sopka volcano - the highest mountain on the Kamchatka Peninsula of Russia.

As the steaming lava spurts from the volcano, the vivid red colour illuminates the dark blue sky.

The incredible shots were caught on camera by photographer Denis Budkov, during the four times the volcano has erupted - in 2010, 2013, 2015 and 2016.

Denis, 36, said: "I was lucky enough to observe and photograph all of this volcano's eruptions.

"I was less than 300 metres from the volcano, and I was amazed by the gorgeous views of the night sky in the distance.

"It wasn't too hot or scary - everything was just perfect. "I have lived in Kamchatka all my life, and I've seen many eruptions - but every time I am stunned and amazed by the view and the power of nature."
