Offbeat Video

This hilarious footage captures the moment a man was seen driving a mobility scooter with three GARDEN FENCE PANELS strapped to the chair.

Tyrone Mullan, 30, was left gobsmacked and crying with laughter when he spotted the blunder as he made his way to the supermarket in his home city of Bristol, Avon, with a friend on Sunday [May 10].

The single dad-of-two quickly pulled out his phone to snap the stunt from the passenger seat, after watching the man drive across two main roads with the three 6ft by 6ft fence panels strapped to the chair of the mobility scooter.

Now the builder has gone viral after posting the footage to his Facebook page, where it racked up more than 50,000 views and 4,000 shares.

Tyrone said: “We were just setting off from home to head to the shops when I saw it.

“I didn’t even recognise what it was at first because all I could see were the moving fence panels in the road and I was trying to work out what was going on.

“Then I saw the guy on the mobility scooter and I was crying with laughter.

“I thought he must live on one of these roads but he was driving along two main roads going the same way as me for about five minutes before he turned off.

“That’s what set me off the most, seeing his indicator go off as though he was actually driving a car.

“I couldn’t believe my eyes, I thought ‘I’ve seen it all now’.”

Tyrone, who has Crohn’s Disease, has been receiving help with his shopping from a friend during lockdown and was being driven to the supermarket when he noticed the unusual vehicle on the road.

But the quick-thinking dad said they weren’t the only ones left staring and shocked at the sight – adding that they exchanged grins with another van driver as they watched the mobility scooter turn off the main road.

The man driving the scooter, who Tyrone believes was in his mid-30s, was driving at around 10mph.

After initially only posting the video to his private Facebook page, Tyrone’s changed the privacy settings when his family told him to share it with everybody – sending the hilarious clip viral within a matter of hours.

Tyrone said: “I was only going to share it with friends and family but it was my brother in law who said everyone will love that, make it public.

“I can’t believe how many times it’s been viewed and shared.

“I didn’t manage to catch it on the video but as he turned off the main road at the end and we carried on driving, I just smiled at the van driver coming out of the junction and he smiled back as if he knew exactly what I was thinking.

“No one could help but laugh.”
