Singletons are now able to track which dates get their heart racing most in real time – as a new study revealed 42 per cent of Brits admit their online meet-ups lack spark.
Almost half (46 per cent) of Brits currently feel they’re wasting their time and money on bad dates and four in 10 restrict themselves to only dating ‘their type on paper’.
But with two in five people wishing they could test the spark before meeting a potential match, singles are now able to really put chemistry to the test at Samsung KX in London’s Coal Drop Yard.
Samsung KX have teamed up with dating app happn to offer those looking for love the chance to physically track their connection with would-be partners by taking part in three 15-minute micro-dates with strangers while wearing a Samsung Galaxy Watch to monitor their heartrate.
The #SamsungKX series, spread across five dating events and dubbed ‘a new era of dating’, came about after a third of Brits deemed chemistry was the most important factor when it comes to romantic encounters.
Marine Ravinet, Head of Trends at happn, said: “Here at happn, we want to help people forge long-lasting, deep connections.
“This starts with understanding that your type on paper isn’t necessarily going to be the one you fall in love with.
“This forward-thinking way of micro-dating blows romantic types out of the water and we’re excited to partner with Samsung KX to help build better couplings through Samsung technology.
“After all, meaningful relationships begin with real life meetings.”
Tanya Weller, Director of Samsung Showcase, KX said: “We’re really excited to be hosting the #SamsungKX Micro-Dating series to help prevent more Brits wasting time and money on bad dates.
“This idea to literally track real chemistry and connections using our technology reaffirms what Samsung KX is all about, a true home of innovation.
“It’s experiences like these that really help us connect people and we’re looking forward to bringing more exciting events and workshops to our guests in the very near future.”
The #SamsungKX Micro-Dating series will kick off this Thursday [Feb 20] and will also include complimentary drinks and virtual ice breakers on Samsung mobile devices for guests to enjoy.
