A swooping drone captured the breathtaking moment a pod of dolphins hit the waves alongside a skilled surfer.
When a SpaceX launch was abruptly cancelled, drone pilot Craig Badger, 52, disappointingly headed back home without any footage.
Noticing the waves were particularly high along the coast, Craig decided to stop off at Ave. C in Ventura, California, in order to salvage the day and capture some footage.
And in the end, who needs rocket launches when you have surfing dolphins?
With his drone taking flight, Craig captured the moment a surfer was joined by a pod of energetic dolphins who leaped out of the waves in a spectacular display.
Craig said: “I have always had good luck filming at Ave. C.
“When I launched my drone, there were two policemen so I was a little nervous, but they were fine with it and went riding off down the beach.
“When the dolphins appeared, they came roaring back to me on their bikes and screeched to a halt making sure I caught the amazing moment.
“I’ve been filming for four years with my drone and this is the most amazing thing I’ve ever seen.”
