A filmmaker has captured the stunning moment an active water flow looked like it was frozen in time.
Pietro Giancarlo, 39, spotted the rare natural phenomenon on January 9, while visiting Parco Nazionale D’Abruzzo in Italy.
Pietro’s video shows a jet, emerging from a water fountain, looking as cold as ice.
However, when Pietro moves his hand through it, the stream breaks and flows over his fingers.
Pietro said: “I had never encountered this phenomenon in real life before.
“However, I immediately recognised it as I’d seen videos of it on the Internet.”
“This phenomenon is called laminar flow and it occurs with very low temperatures and absence of wind,” he continued.
