An aquarium keeper has filmed a school of strange-looking and yet adorable goldfish with huge, puffy cheeks.
Karson Yan is the owner of Senzeal Aquarium, a company specialised in aquarium accessories and based in Guangzhou, China.
In one of his shop’s tanks, Karson keeps numerous strange-looking goldfish with oddly inflated ‘cheeks’.
These specimens belong to a variety of goldfish called the bubble eye, and those which look like cheeks are in fact fluid-filled sacs that protrude from the animals’ eyes.
Karson said: “These fish are adorable and a lot of our costumers think they are cute.
“Their sacs are very delicate and easy to pierce.
“The fish should be only kept in aquariums without sharp objects or surfaces.”
